Visits & Wandering

[instead of binge posting 4 posts, I'll write a lot today then try to spread the posting out through out the week]

We went to a farm and talked to a couple farmers about their work and to see how they're doing. The NGO does this fairly often to make sure that the money is actually being used correctly. At this farm, little greenhouses were made to increase the production of tomatoes. Ashok saw greenhouses in the US somewhere and decided to try to replicate them.

We followed the farmer up to her house. She showed us another project that was implemented: biogas. Basically, they take all the cow droppings and put it in a huge bin. There are pipes carrying methane that lead out of this bin and to the various houses. They do not have to buy as much gas because it is being produced naturally.

Pictured below is a health awareness presentation. They focused on heart disease and the warning signs of heart attacks. They went over what foods were bad and how to cook better.

Somehow I found myself in the forest again in a very overgrown trail. This only means 1 thing: spiders. I was paranoid the whole time, but I didn't see any gargantuan ones. Here's a relevant article on arachnophobia. Why are we afraid of spiders?

Anyways, I climbed up the hill with Mohan and Rubita. At the top there was a really nice view. When we came down, we passed the new eye hospital, so I got a photo of that. It's projected to be done in a few months.
